Get to know the Vanier Cheetahs: Football Team

American football is a sport known for its intense physical contact and thrilling plays. The Vanier footballers have all that and more. With the season in full-swing, defensive lineman Jordan Williams was able to make time to answer our questions. Let’s hear what he has to say.

What is your team’s goal for this season? “To be champions” (Williams, 2025).

Visible team strengths and visible team weaknesses?

“Our strength is our bond with each other. Our weakness is our mental fortitude, and perseverance” (Williams, 2025).

Any predictions for this season’s outcome?

“I predict we are going 4-4 in the regular season, and making it to the bol d’or” (Williams, 2025).

Why did you decide to join the Cheetahs?

“I joined to contribute to the Cheetah legacy” (Williams, 2025).

Do you have a personal ritual or routine before games?

“I eat dried mango pieces before I play” (Williams, 2025).

How do you balance academics and athletics at Vanier? “I use my breaks in between to get the work done” (Williams, 2025).

If you could describe your team in three words, what would they be?

“Faithful, hopeful, ambitious” (Williams, 2025)

What’s been your favorite moment so far?

“Winning against CVM and celebrating with my team and coach” (Williams, 2025)

Favorite hype food/snack before a game?

“Dried mangos, ice tea, frozen grapes” (Williams, 2025).

What do you love most about this sport?

“Hitting other players and making friends throughout my time with the team” (Williams, 2025).

Why should one join the team?

“To play for a great school and a great program” (Williams, 2025).

What does wearing Vanier’s jersey mean to you?

“It means I am embracing something that’s more than myself. I’m representing the entirety of this school and the previous players who played here” (Williams, 2025).

Despite the rocky start to the football season, the team has a goal, to be champions. With that goal in mind, The Insider wishes the football team all the best in the games to comes!
